YOUTUBE – 2009-2011

In any case, "Farmer John" by the Premiers is not to be missed, so I have included a link to a YouTube video of the original 45 of this great song:  www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qz5Ax30T-E .  (I am not positive that this is the one that was on Nuggets, but it probably is, though the odd introduction about "Has anybody seen Kosher Pickled Herring?" is omitted).

I really didn't expect to find anything on YouTube by Beast., and I did have to hunt around quite a bit; but I finally stumbled onto several songs of theirs.   None of them are videos; there is just a shot of the Beast album cover in each case.  Apparently one person recorded every song on their first album, and others had recorded selected songs.  The first song listed below is the opening cut on the album, which features chanting that sounds like animal grunts; the second is another good song that is a little different.  If you like what you hear, there are plenty more that you could check out also.

I haven't ever heard another band that is quite like Beast – the nice woodwind work is rare enough in itself – but if you know of one, please let me know!

Also, I am going to try to add a bonus to the articles:  A “Flashback” to the band from two years earlier if I can find a YouTube video to post.  I am a little leery of this kind of link myself since I evidently picked up a couple of nasty viruses that way early this year.  What I have heard you can do to keep it safe is to copy the link rather than click on it directly, and then paste the copy into the Internet box.  Anyway, wish me luck; supposedly there are millions of YouTube videos on any band imaginable – and I have come across several as I have been writing these posts.  But I don’t expect to find one on all of the Under-Appreciated Rock Bands and Artists, that’s for sure.
