STAIRWAY TO HELL
Stairway to Hell is an EP by the American alternative rock band Ugly Kid Joe. It was released digitally on June 5, 2012, and a physical version surfaced a month later, July 9. This is their first studio recording since 1996’s Motel California, and their first EP since 1991’s As Ugly as They Wanna Be. A video for its single “Devil’s Paradise” was released on May 24, 2012 to promote it. Another music video for the “I’m Alright” song was released on November 12, 2012. The title of this EP is likely a play on the Led Zeppelin song “Stairway to Heaven” and the AC/DC album Highway to Hell. On April 14, 2013, the EP was reissued with three acoustic bonus tracks and a DVD containing the complete Download Festival set from 2012. (More from Wikipedia)
Ugly Kid Joe, America’s Least Wanted – Allmusic describes Ugly Kid Joe as a “fun-loving hard rock/funk/alt-metal group from Southern California”. To find the fun, you don’t have to go any further than the band name (a takeoff on “Pretty Boy Floyd” – actually a band by that name, Pretty Boy Floyd, not the Depression-era outlaw) or their album names that have similar word play, such as this one plus Menace to Sobriety, Motel California, and Stairway to Hell (with the latter album released just two years ago).
