TIME IS ON MY SIDE

“Time Is on My Side”  is a song written by Jerry Ragovoy (under the pseudonym of Norman Meade).  The Rolling Stones recorded two versions of the song in 1964.  Both versions incorporate elements of Irma Thomas’s recording of the song, including spoken-word interjections in the chorus, a monologue in the middle of the song, and distinctive lead guitar.  The song was the Rolling Stones’ first top ten hit in the U.S.  (More from Wikipedia)

That’s what it says:  The Magnificent Moodies This record was released in 1965 and was the first album by the Moody Blues.  Like many of the British Invasion bands, they started out as a crackerjack rhythm and blues band, and the U. S. release of the album has a different cover and some variation in the songs.  Time Is on My Side” is included on most of the CD reissues as a bonus track; the song is best known from the Rolling Stones version of “Time Is on My Side”, their first Top Ten hit in the US (the song was written by Norman Meade)

(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” was the Rolling Stones’ first #1 hit in America; and believe it or not, that did not happen until the Stones had released some 12 or 15 previous singles over nearly a two-year period.  Their previous Top 10 hits were Time Is on My Side and “The Last Time”.  “Satisfaction” was released in the US 50 years ago, in June 1965.  After that, there was no stopping them.
