So Far album cover

Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young – So Far (1974):  As one of the few new bands, Crosby, Stills, Nash and/or Young became superstars after their appearance at Woodstock in 1969, and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young planned a massive reunion tour in 1974 (the first rock-band tour having only stadium dates actually).  The album name So Far is somewhat ironic – CSNY had broken up while working on a new album in the early 1970’s and wouldn’t release another studio album until 1988, American Dream.  Also, almost every rock music fan already had a copy of the only two albums released to that point – Crosby, Stills and Nash (1969) and Déjà Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young (1970) – so the only quasi-new music included on So Far was a 1970 single about the Kent State University shootings, “Ohio” b/w “Find the Cost of Freedom”.  Still, the album went to #1, like the other two, and it is kind of nice to have all of these songs on one disc.  The cover drawing is by Joni Mitchell, who wrote one of the songs on the album, “Woodstock”.
