Tim Buckley – Tim Buckley (1966):  Tim Buckley arrived on the music scene during the British Invasion, and that might have prevented greater success from coming his way.  Buckley was best known as a top-notch songwriter; one of those to take notice was Linda Ronstadt, who included three Tim Buckley songs on the third album by the Stone PoneysLinda Ronstadt, Stone Poneys and Friends, Volume III (1968).  The original recordings by Tim Buckley of two of those songs, “Wings” and “Aren’t You the Girl” (called “Aren’t You the One?” on the Stone Poneys album) are on Tim Buckley, Buckley’s debut album; while “Hobo” was on Buckley’s second album Goodbye and Hello (1967) and might be my favorite Linda Ronstadt song of all.  The latter song also appears under its original name, “Morning Glory” on Child Is Father to the Man by Blood, Sweat and TearsTim Buckley died tragically young at just 28 years of age, as did his talented son Jeff Buckley who passed at age 30.
