NOBODY BUT ME (The Dickies)
“Nobody but Me” is a song written by O’Kelly, Rudolph, and Ronald Isley of The Isley Brothers and first recorded by The Isley Brothers in 1962. The most commercially successful and widely known version to date is the 1968 US Top 10 garage rock hit by The Human Beinz which was their only chart success. The L.A. punk band the Dickies recorded a lightning-fast version of the song on their 1998 all-covers album, Dogs from the Hare that Bit Us. (More from Wikipedia)
Dogs from the Hare that Bit Us opens with a cover of a song by the Weirdos called “Solitary Confinement”, and follows that with inimitable covers by the Dickies of a variety of other numbers: “Easy Livin’” (Uriah Heep), “There’s a Place” (the Beatles), “Nobody but Me” (the Human Beinz), “Can’t Let Go” (the Hollies, and also Linda Ronstadt), “Epistle to Dippy” (Donovan), and others.
