Frankie Sullivan

FRANKIE SULLIVAN

Frankie Sullivan  (born February 1, 1955) is an American guitarist and songwriter.  He is best known for being a member of the band Survivor, and has been the only constant member of the band since its formation in 1977.  Along with former bandmate, keyboardist/vocalist Jim Peterik, Sullivan co-wrote many of the group’s hits including “Eye of the Tiger” and “Burning Heart” from the Rocky III and Rocky IV movie soundtracks.  (More from Wikipedia)

Fergie Frederiksen (formerly with Trillion) later connected with Jim Peterik and Frankie Sullivan of the band Survivor while their lead singer Dave Bickler was ailing.  Although Bickler recovered, and credited only as “Fergie”, Frederiksen wound up contributing background vocals to several tracks on their biggest album, Eye of the Tiger (1982); the title song “Eye of the Tiger” was featured in the film Rocky III.
