Rebecca St. James  (born Rebecca Jean Smallbone; 26 July 1977) is an Australian Christian pop rock singer-songwriter, author and actress.  St. James rose to fame in the late 1990s with her RIAA certified Gold albums God and Pray, the latter of which won a Grammy Award in 1999 for Best Rock Gospel Album.  The albums spawned multiple singles, including “God”, “Pray”, and “Yes, I Believe in God”.  Since then she has established herself as one of the most prominent musical artists in Contemporary Christian music (CCM), with four additional full-length studio albums:  Transform, Worship God, If I Had One Chance to Tell You Something, and I Will Praise You.  Staple songs such as “Wait for Me”, “Reborn”, “Song of Love”, “I Thank You”, “Alive”, and “Shine Your Glory Down”, have all been derived from these releases.  She has sold two million albums since starting her career.  (More from Wikipedia)

Get Real! (CD from the 1998 Alabama Youth Evangelism Conference) – I was listening to a lot of Christian contemporary music in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s; in fact, I was doing considerable right-of-way appraisal work in northwest Alabama at that time, and one property owner who had a professional recording studio in his house gave me close to a dozen CD’s of very good CCM music that he had masterminded for local people.  I don’t know enough about the scene to really say whether these artists are all as prominent as BeBe WinansSteven Curtis ChapmanDC Talk, and Newsboys; but there are lovely and lively songs alike on this record, starting with the standout opening cut “God” by Rebecca St. James
