Michael Gore

Michael Gore  (born March 5, 1950) is an American composer.  Gore, along with lyricist Dean Pitchford, won the Oscar in 1981 for best original song for “Fame” from the film of the same title.  He also won the award that year for best original score.  Gore is the younger brother of late singer/songwriter Lesley Gore.  (More from Wikipedia)
 
 

In 1980Lesley Gore wrote songs for the movie Fame, including “Out Here on My Own” that was co-written with her brother Michael Gore; he won an Academy Award for Best Original Song for the title song, “Fame” (the lyrics were written by Dean Pitchford).
