The James Gang – Live in Concert (1971): The James Gang was founded by drummer James (Jim) Fox in Cleveland in 1966; after some turnover, a future superstar, singer/guitarist Joe Walsh joined up in 1968. Just in time for album-oriented rock radio, the James Gang recorded three fine studio albums plus this live album, although Joe Walsh would exit the band around the time of its release and eventually joined the Eagles in 1975, staying with that band until they broke up in 1980. Live in Concert captures the excitement of the James Gang on stage, although the set list omits one of their most popular songs, “Funk #49”.
