The Ink Spots – The Fabulous Ink Spots (1960’s ±):  The Fabulous Ink Spots is a budget label release from sometime during the 1960’s, probably, and has just eight songs, unlike some albums with the same name that have more songs.  The Ink Spots were one of the earliest African American vocal groups that had widespread appeal – their first hit song, “If I Didn’t Care” came out in 1939 – and helped paved the way for the doo wop genre in the 1950’s.  The Ink Spots’ songs have sentimental verses and chorus that are typically divided by a bridge that is a spoken-word commentary on the subject matter of the song.
