Ian Hunter Album album cover

Ian Hunter – Ian Hunter (1975):  Ian Hunter was the former lead singer and frontman for the long-lived British hard rock band Mott the Hoople; this debut solo album Ian Hunter came out shortly after Hunter exited that band.  The opening track, “Once Bitten, Twice Shy” is a hard rock standard, particularly the version recorded by the glam metal band Great White that reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1989.  “Once Bitten, Twice Shy” was also covered by Shaun Cassidy, Eddie and the Hot Rods, and Status Quo.  Other highlights on Ian Hunter include “It Ain’t Easy When You Fall”, “The Truth, the Whole Truth, Nuthin’ but the Truth”, and “I Get So Excited”.  The cover image is adapted from a drawing called Bond of Union (1956) by legendary graphic artist M. C. Escher who is best known for his mind-bending optical illusions.
