Jackson Browne – The Pretender (1976): Jackson Browne was one of the most successful California singer-songwriters of the 1970’s and is known for his solid melodies and thoughtful lyrics. The Pretender is Jackson Browne’s fourth album and broke him into the mainstream; the album’s two singles, “Here Come Those Tears Again” and “The Pretender” are both excellent. The Pretender happened to be the first album where I completed the recovery from the Katrina debris – I remember well admiring often the cleaned album in its new white cover with the printed album cover on the front and the basic info down the spine.
