The Blues at Newport 1964, Part 1 (Various Artists) (1965):  Beginning in 1954 (and continuing off and on to the present day), Newport, Rhode Island was the place to be for the best American music festivals, first the Newport Jazz Festival and then the Newport Folk Festival starting in 1959.  These recordings are blues music that was performed at the 1964 Newport Folk Festival by Fred McDowell, Sleepy John Estes, Doc Reese, and Robert Pete Williams.
