The American Breed – Bend Me, Shape Me (1967):  One of the few biracial bands of the mid-1960’s, the American Breed had a gold hit with “Bend Me, Shape Me”; it is the title song of Bend Me, Shape Me, their fifth and last album.  Two of the bandmembers, drummer Andre Fischer and keyboardist Kevin Murphy were later in the band Rufus that launched the career of Chaka Khan.
