ABBA – The Singles (1982):  ABBA was a powerhouse pop-music quartet from Sweden who dominated the record charts for most of the 1970’s and into the 1980’s.  Their distinctive harmonies and strong production values set them apart from other musical groups, and that remains true even to this day.  The Singles – subtitled “The First Ten Years” – is actually a double album, but only the first album has shown up so far in what I have cleaned up from Hurricane Katrina.  ABBA broke up in 1982, but a musical stage production called Mamma Mia! was launched in England in 1997 that was built around their songs and had a 14-year run.  Mamma Mia! was also made into a movie in 2008 with stars who are not known for their vocal abilities, including Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan, and Colin Firth, among others.  A sequel to the film, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again came out in 2018.
