WTOB-AM RADIO

WTOB  is an Oldies and Classic Hits formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, serving Winston-Salem and Forsyth County, North Carolina.  WTOB was a Top 40 station during the 1950's, 1960's and 1970's.  George Lee was one of "The Good Guys", and his trademark sign-off was "Drive safely.  The life you save may be your own.  Myself, I'd rather be late than be the late George Lee."  Other popular DJs were Dick Bennick, The Flying Dutchman, and Rick Dees.  After several format changes, WTOB switched to a classic hits format on June 1, 2014.   (More from Wikipedia)

A DJ on one of our local radio stations where I was growing up in Winston-SalemDick Bennick at WTOB-AM Radio was forever calling the Fab Four "the beetley, bootley Beatles".
