Rocky III

ROCKY III

Rocky III  is the third installment in the Rocky film series and is a 1982 American motion picture written and directed by, and starring Sylvester Stallone as the title character.  The movie features returning co-stars Carl Weathers, Burgess Meredith, Talia Shire, and Burt Young.  Rocky III also marks the film debuts of Mr. T as James “Clubber” Lang; and of professional wrestler Hulk Hogan as the supporting character “Thunderlips”.  The film’s main theme “Eye of the Tiger”, was written by the group Survivor and became a smash hit single, topping the U.S. Billboard charts and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song.  (More from Wikipedia)

Fergie Frederiksen (formerly with Trillion) later connected with Jim Peterik and Frankie Sullivan of the band Survivor while their lead singer Dave Bickler was ailing.  Although Bickler recovered, and credited only as “Fergie”, Frederiksen wound up contributing background vocals to several tracks on their biggest album, Eye of the Tiger (1982); the title song “Eye of the Tiger” was featured in the film Rocky III.
