Rocky Franchise

ROCKY FRANCHISE

Rocky  is a series of seven boxing films.  The first film, Rocky (1976), and its five sequels centered on the boxing career of the eponymous fictional character, Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone).  For the seventh, Creed (2015), and its upcoming sequel, the series shifted its focus towards Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan), the son of Rocky’s deceased rival and friend Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers), trained by a now retired Rocky.  The film series has grossed more than $1.4 billion at the worldwide box office.  The original film, the third and the seventh have received Academy Award nominations.  The first film won Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Editing.  Stallone himself has received Academy Award nominations for his portrayal of Rocky, in the first and seventh film.  The soundtrack of the series has also received nominations for the first and third films.  (More from Wikipedia)

Robert TepperModern Madness – Sylvester Stallone selected the title song from Robert Tepper’s debut album No Easy Way Out, “No Easy Way Out” for the soundtrack of the 1985 film Rocky IV.  This was the most successful of the Rocky films and, in fact, was the biggest selling sports movie of all time until overtaken by The Blind Side (2009), the hit movie that gave Sandra Bullock her Oscar.  While There’s No Easy Way Out made it to the Top 30Robert Tepper’s album was not a big seller.  His follow-up album that I have, Modern Madness (1988) is a good rocking album that is well written and performed.
