NIKKI CORVETTE

Nikki Corvette  (born Dominique Lorenz in Detroit, MI), is a singer best known as a member of the band Nikki & The Corvettes from 1977 through 1981.  In late 1977 or early 1978, a friend of hers arranged for Nikki to headline a concert at a bar, and she spent the next few weeks organizing Nikki and the Corvettes.  The new band played together for the first time at the concert.  The Corvettes were signed by Bomp! Records and released an album, Nikki and the Corvettes in 1980.  (More from Wikipedia)

Johnny O’Halloran and Travis Ramin of Tina and the Total Babes.were later in a band called Nikki Corvette and the Sting Rays that released an album in 2006; Nikki Corvette’s earlier band Nikki and the Corvettes released an album called Nikki and the Corvettes on Bomp! Records in 1980 and is one of the groups that Tina and the Total Babes.are honoring in their album.

Robert Mulrooney of the Ramrods moved on to play drums for Nikki Corvette’s original band, Nikki and the Corvettes (I have a reissue copy of their wonderful sole album from 1980, Nikki and the Corvettes), plus Coldcock, the Sillies, the Mutants, Rocket 455, and Dark Carnival.
