New York Daily News is an American newspaper based in New York City. It is the fourth-most widely circulated daily newspaper in the United States. It was founded in 1919, and was the first U.S. daily printed in tabloid format. As of 2014, it is owned and run by Mortimer Zuckerman, and is headquartered at 4 New York Plaza in Lower Manhattan. The first solo album by Holly Ramos, Racehorse came out in 2006; her label has the remarkable name of Ford to City: Drop Dead Records. The name is taken from a famous headline that was published in the New York Daily News; the reference is to the refusal of the Federal Government – in the person of President Gerald Ford – to aid the New York City government when it came close to bankruptcy in 1975.
