I Know I’m Losing You

“(I Know) I’m Losing You”  is a 1966 hit single recorded by The Temptations for the Gordy (Motown) label and produced by Norman Whitfield.  “(I Know) I’m Losing You” was a 1970 version by Motown rock band Rare Earth for their Ecology album.  Rare Earth’s 10-minute cover was edited for single release and peaked at No. 7, one position higher than the Temptations’ original on the U.S. pop charts.  (More from Wikipedia)

 

Other hits by Rare Earth include another Motown cover, “(I Know) I’m Losing You” plus “I Just Want to Celebrate”.  The latter song has recently been used in commercials for Nicoderm, a nicotine patch product, which features a miniature band performing the main chorus after a man passes on an offered cigarette.
