Crumblin’ Down

Greatly Appreciated

CRUMBLIN’ DOWN

“Crumblin’ Down”  is a rock song co-written and performed by John Mellencamp, released as the lead single from his 1983 album Uh-Huh.  It was a top-ten hit on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Mainstream Rock charts.  (More from Wikipedia)

John Mellencamp was infuriated to find out that his first album, Chestnut Street Incident had been released under the name Johnny Cougar; and eventually, he set about to reinvent himself, well, back to being himself:  After another album under that name, and two under the name John Cougar, the next step was to release his two best albums, Uh Huh and Scarecrow under the name John Cougar Mellencamp; the opening track on Uh Huh, “Crumblin’ Down” is the first song of his that I truly loved.
